Minimum and recommended PC requirements
The two columns represent different performance targets, not simply a pass and a perfect experience. Minimum is specified for 1920×1080 at 30 FPS using the Low preset; recommended is specified for 2560×1440 at 60 FPS using the High preset.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 | 64-bit Windows 10 or 11; Windows 11 recommended |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X | Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 32 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, or Intel Arc B580 | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT |
| Storage | 50 GB available space | 50 GB available space |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Official target | 1080p, 30 FPS, Low preset | 1440p, 60 FPS, High preset |
EA does not include an always-online connection in the gameplay requirements because Zero Company is single-player. You may still need internet access to purchase and download the game, install patches, synchronize platform features, or retrieve cloud saves.
What the minimum specification delivers
A system at the minimum tier is intended for a 30 FPS experience at 1080p and Low settings, so it should not be treated as a promise of 60 FPS or high-detail 1440p play.
The six-core i5-8400 and Ryzen 5 2600X establish the older desktop CPU baseline, while the 16 GB memory requirement leaves less room for heavy browser sessions, recording software, and other background applications. Close memory-hungry programs before launching if the PC has exactly 16 GB. Storage capacity is only part of the question: keeping additional free space beyond the listed 50 GB gives Windows and game updates room to work.
The graphics list is unusual enough to read carefully. A GTX 1080, RX 5600 XT, and Arc B580 do not perform identically in every title, even though all three appear in the same official minimum row. Match your exact GPU rather than relying on a family name such as “GTX,” “Radeon,” or “Arc.” Laptop parts with similar names may also run at different power limits from their desktop counterparts.
What the recommended specification targets
The recommended hardware is EA’s 1440p, 60 FPS, High-preset target: an i7-10700K or Ryzen 7 3700X, 32 GB RAM, and an RTX 3080 or RX 7800 XT.
This is a substantial step above minimum, especially on the GPU side. It is useful for players who want smoother camera movement, clearer large battlefields, and less need to trade image quality for frame rate. It is not an official 4K target, and the table does not promise maximum settings, ray tracing, or a fixed performance level during every cinematic and combat effect.
A newer card is not automatically equivalent if it belongs to a much lower performance class. Compare independent benchmarks for your precise model at the resolution you intend to use. The same caution applies to CPUs: core count, architecture, cooling, and sustained laptop power all matter, so a product number alone cannot guarantee that a mobile system matches the listed desktop chip.
Can my PC run Zero Company?
Check the processor, installed RAM, exact graphics adapter, DirectX version, Windows type, and available drive space; the weakest relevant component usually determines which official target is realistic.
Press Windows key + R, enter dxdiag, and open the System tab for Windows, CPU, memory, and DirectX information. The Display tab identifies the active graphics adapter. Then open File Explorer, select This PC, and inspect available space on the drive where you plan to install the game. On laptops, confirm that the game uses the dedicated GPU rather than integrated graphics.
If one part falls between the two tiers, expect an experience between the published targets rather than a simple yes-or-no result. For example, a recommended-class GPU paired with 16 GB RAM may still run well after background programs are closed, but it does not become an officially recommended configuration. Hardware below minimum might launch, yet its performance and stability are not officially confirmed.
Practical PC optimization
Start from the preset closest to your hardware, update the graphics driver, and lower resolution or expensive visual settings before changing several unrelated options at once.
On a minimum-class PC, begin with 1080p Low and a 30 FPS cap. If frame pacing is stable, raise individual settings gradually. If performance falls, reduce shadows, effects, and resolution scaling first, then retest the same battle or camera route. A repeatable scene makes it easier to see whether a change helped instead of judging from two completely different missions.
Intel Arc users should enable Resizable BAR, which EA specifically recommends for better FPS performance. Check motherboard or laptop documentation because the firmware labels and prerequisites vary. For every GPU brand, install a current stable driver and allow shader compilation to finish. If crashes continue, return overclocks to stock, disable third-party overlays temporarily, and keep enough free disk space for patches before lowering visual quality further.
