Game Pass status at a glance
The launch listings present Zero Company as a premium game with separate Standard and Deluxe purchases. Subscription access, ownership, cloud saves, and cloud streaming are different features, so each needs its own answer rather than one broad “Xbox availability” label.
| Service or feature | Launch status | What that status provides |
|---|---|---|
| Xbox Game Pass | Not officially confirmed | No announced launch-day catalog access |
| PC Game Pass | Not officially confirmed | The PC release is sold separately through PC storefronts |
| EA Play | Not officially confirmed | An EA app release does not automatically mean EA Play inclusion |
| Xbox cloud saves | Supported | Synchronizes Xbox save data; it is not cloud streaming |
| Xbox Cloud Gaming | Not officially confirmed | No announced streaming route for the game at launch |
The launch subscription answer
Zero Company launched as a paid standalone title, not an announced day-one Game Pass release. The US Xbox store lists a purchase price and separate Standard and Deluxe products. It does not present the base game as included with a Game Pass tier in the launch information used for this guide.
That distinction is especially important with an Electronic Arts game. The EA app is a PC storefront and launcher; EA Play is a subscription catalog. Seeing the game in the EA app, signing into an EA Account, or linking an Xbox profile does not by itself grant a license through EA Play or Game Pass.
Subscription catalogs can change after release, so the launch answer is not a promise about every future month. A later deal could add the game to Game Pass, EA Play, a trial benefit, or a higher tier, but no date or tier is officially confirmed. Until a catalog page names the game and access terms, plan around buying a copy.
Where you can buy Zero Company
PC players can buy the Windows version through Steam, the EA app, or Epic Games Store. Console players can buy the native PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S edition. EA does not list PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, macOS, or Linux among the supported launch platforms.
Choose the storefront attached to the hardware and library you intend to use. A Steam purchase belongs to your Steam account, while an Xbox console purchase belongs to the Xbox ecosystem; neither is advertised as a universal license for the other platforms. Cross-buy and cross-save between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox are not officially confirmed.
The edition decision is separate from Game Pass. Both Standard and Deluxe contain the base campaign, while Deluxe adds cosmetic packs and weapon themes. On the US Xbox store, Standard and Deluxe are sold as distinct products, with a Deluxe upgrade also listed. A subscription appearing later would need its own description of which edition or benefits are included.
Cloud saves are not cloud gaming
The Xbox edition supports Xbox cloud saves, and the Steam store lists Steam Cloud. These features synchronize save data within their respective ecosystems. They do not mean the game can be streamed from Microsoft’s servers, and they do not establish Game Pass membership.
Xbox Cloud Gaming is normally tied to specific supported titles, regions, devices, and subscription terms. Zero Company did not have an officially confirmed cloud-streaming route at launch. The Xbox store’s “Xbox cloud saves” capability should therefore be read literally: it concerns stored progress, not remote rendering of the game.
Local network streaming is another option entirely. A PC owner may be able to stream a Steam installation to another device through Steam’s own features, depending on hardware and network setup. That still requires access to the purchased PC game and a host computer; it is not a substitute for an announced Xbox Cloud Gaming version.
How future Game Pass availability would work
A genuine catalog update should identify the exact service, tier, region, and start date. “Game Pass” now covers multiple plans, and EA Play benefits can vary by platform. A promotion, discounted purchase, timed trial, and full-game inclusion are not interchangeable offers.
If the campaign enters a rotating catalog, access would generally depend on maintaining the relevant subscription and on the title remaining in that service. Zero Company is a single-player story that EA estimates at roughly 30 to 40 hours for most players, so catalog duration may matter if you play slowly or intend to return for another difficulty.
Ownership remains the simpler option for unrestricted revisits. A subscription could still be appealing for players who already pay for the service or want to sample the campaign, but there is no official launch inclusion to price against the standalone editions. Treat any future announcement as a new access option, not as something bundled into every Xbox purchase today.
